Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: July 19

The St. Ann Feast is coming to Norwalk, plus more.

  1. There is an Ordinance Committee of the Common Council Public Hearing tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. in room 231. the main item on the agenda is "Proposed changes to chapter 18A, barbershops, hairdressers and cosmetology shops (to include) body care and body art facilities."
  2. The St. Ann Feast is returning after a year on hiatus. Come celebrate the Italian Heritage of The St. Ann Club at 16 Hendrick Ave., mangia on authentic Italian food and dessert. Rides and games for kids and the young at heart. July 21-22-23-24 from 5 to 11 p.m. and 3 to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
  3. South Norwalk Library invites you to a discuss the book Skinwalkers by Tony Hillerman for the Brown Bag Book Group that will meet on Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m. "Vibrant with the spirit of the Navajo people of the Southwest, Hillerman's story is a spellbinder." Sounds like a conversation sparker!
  4. The City of Norwalk Recreation and Parks Summer Concert Series continues this Wednesday 7 p.m at . The tribute band gracing the stage this week is Back to the Garden, featuring music from the Woodstock generation. Right on!
  5. Gathering of The Vibes music festival at Seaside Park, Bridgeport from Thursday through Sunday. Just a few of the bands and artists this year include Jane's Addiction, Elvis Costello, Deep Banana Blackout, King For A Day, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. There are too many bands to name. Tickets are almost sold out, so hurry!
