Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: August 19

Travel to Finland at Stepping Stones Museum this Saturday during their Around the World Performance Series, plus more.

  1. The United Way of CT's 2-1-1 helps hundreds of thousands of residents each year access needed services. The new video put out by The United Way highlights their mission and services. Check it out!
  2. Don't forget the Rowayton Farmer's Market in from 2 to 6 p.m. today. Pick up some fresh eggs, naturally locally raised beef or maybe some fresh fabulous fruit.
  3. This Sunday at the Levitt Pavilion - 40 Jesup Rd., Westport - get up and swing with the 16-piece military band Navy Band Northeast a return performance with music from the Big Band era to the present. Show starts at 7 p.m.
  4. The Third Annual Click It for Cassie Softball Tournament will be held at Calf Pasture Beach, Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. "The Click It for Cassie Foundation brings awareness of the importance of wearing seatbelts to drivers, especially teens, as statistics show that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for people between the ages of 15 and 34."
  5. This Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. head over to Stepping Stones Museum for a A Musical Journey to Finland, part of their Around the World Performance Series. Ulla Suokko Flutist and Singer will perform and invites "us all to embrace the truth of our being and the passion of our hearts. In this very special performance for children."
