Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: April 28

Film Screening, Every Day Heroes, Two Angry Moms, Wine Tasting Fundraiser and a Cleaner Sound.

  1. The Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk and will present "Two Angry Moms," at the museum Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. This documentary tells the story of two Moms devoted to changing the way children eat at school.
  2. This summer boaters will be banned from releasing on-board sewage anywhere in Long Island Sound (federal regulations awaiting final approval). On April 11, the EPA gave initial approval to the New York portion of Long Island Sound as a "no-discharge zone". Connecticut made its section of the Sound a "no-discharge zone" in 2007.
  3. is hosting a Spring Wine Tasting fundraiser to benefit the Whittingham Cancer Center at . This event will be held Thursday, May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m.
  4. Norwalk Hospital will be visiting Norwalk Schools in May, which is National Trauma Awareness Month. Paramedics and EMTs will be giving tours of the ambulance, providing information on EMS and “911” awareness, safety and injury prevention.
  5. A screening of the revolutionary documentary film will be held at The Clover Hill Waldorf School on May 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. The film is based on America's education system and its effect on childhood emotional health.
