Feds Confirm CT Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Sushi

Five of the 100-plus salmonella outbreaks nationwide happened in Connecticut.

, a tuna product used in dishes such as sushi and sashimi is now linked by federal officials to the salmonella outbreak that’s affected more than 100 people in 20 states, including five in CT.

No one has died from the outbreak, though 12 have been hospitalized, according to the Associated Press.

The product that FDA officials say caused the outbreak was reportedly labeled as ‘Nakaochi Scrape AA’ or ‘AAA.’ Sold directly to grocery stores and restaurants rather than individuals, nearly 60,000 pounds of the product have been recalled by a California-based company, the AP says.
