Mayor Richard Moccia and City Hall present gifts to those in need on Tuesday.

With a tough economy and many still struggling to make ends meet, Mayor Richard Moccia presented gifts on behalf of the city to make sure there are Christmas presents under the tree for those in need.

In the annual gift giving ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday,  Moccia was joined by superintendent of schools Susan Marks, and several members of the town's work force. Hundreds of gifts were donated to the Salvation Army, Christian Community Action Center, and the Norwalk Emergency Shelter."

We know there are people who can't afford to have a happy Christmas," said Moccia. "This is going to make a lot of young kids happy. I don't think you can ask for anything more during the holiday season than to make young kids happy."
