  • If you didn't get your fill of wine on Valentine's Day, join artisan winemaker Heather Munden of the St. Francis Winery in Sonoma County on Thursday. She will lead an in-store tasting of four of St. Francis’ most popular wines at from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • recently received the "Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence" award for the second year from HealthGrades, a national, independent healthcare ratings organization. Norwalk Hospital was one of 268 hospitals nationwide to receive the award, which represents the top 5 percent of hospitals in the country for clinical performance, according to HealthGrades. The award is based on a HealthGrades study and is given to hospitals that had a lower rate of in-hospital complications than all other hospitals based on an analysis of Medicare data over a three-year time frame.
  • It's another blustery day with a high expected near 29 degrees. Partly sunny skies with highs near 50 are likely throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service.
  • There's a special meeting tonight of the Common Council's Finance Committee to discuss the 2011-2012 budget. The public hearing begins at 7 p.m. in the community room.
