Please consider rescuing one of several dozen dogs and puppies pulled from high-kill animal shelters in Georgia.

The adoption fee is $350 and all the dogs are spayed/neutered, have all the age appropriate shots (unless the adopters choose to have any other vaccinations given after adoption), have been dewormed, and have been started on heart worm prevention. The adoption fee includes 6 months of the heartworm prevention for dogs over 6 months of age and younger than 8 years of age*.

*The type of heart worm prevention this age brack were put on lasts for 6 months. The others will have one month's free and a coupon for a discount off a six-month supply if they choose to use that particular brand

The rescue saves animals from high kill shelters and also takes in many abandoned dogs running lose or puppies that are dumped on their door step. They have taken in many animals that are on death's door in the past few weeks that they are overrun with animals that have no shot of being adopted down there.

If you see a dog/puppy photo you are intereted in just email colbertvet@yahoo.com and they can email them the adoption application ahead of time. Otherwise, paperwork will be available the day(s) of the event.

Approximately 40 dogs and puppies will come up from Georgia to the Stratford Petco this weekend July 28th and 29th for the adoption event.

My family adopted a puppy that came from a high-kill shelter in Arkansas a few years ago. She is the sweetest, most loving dog and we can't imagine life without her! These puppies all look so sweet and in need of love.

The Puppies and Dogs arrive next week. Please spread the word. Even if you are not looking for a furever friend, chances are that you know someone who is. All of these dogs deserve a chance a happy and healthy life, something that they didn't have a chance at in Georgia where pets are not generally appreciated as members of the family. The last even was a major success and we are looking to build on that and make this one even more successful. Please take a look at some of the dogs and consider bringing one into your family. We have 2 rescued dogs and could not imagine what our lives would be like without them.

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel not include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer a perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
