New Officers Elected for 2013 - 2015

Norwalk-Village Green Chapter

The Norwalk–Village Green Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held office elections on Saturday, April 6th. The slate was voted in unanimously.

The new officers are Autier Craft (Regent), Judith Mobilio (Vice Regent), Alison McCarthy (Recording Secretary), Ellen Sturges (Corresponding Secretary), Abigail Moynihan (Treasurer), Cathi O’Hara (Registrar), Wendy Carter (Chaplain), Kimberly Harke (Historian), Sharon Cadden (Librarian), Faith Arnold and Madeleine Eckert (Councilors – 1 year), Nancy Roy and Pat Rubino (Councilors – 2 years).

The induction ceremony for the installation of new offices will take place at the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center on Saturday, May 4th following a members’ luncheon at Adam’s Rib Restaurant. Chapter members, their families, and friends are invited to attend. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The event on Saturday will also include a celebration of Pat Rubino’s 6 years (3 terms) as the chapter’s Regent. Having reached the maximum term limit in the role of Regent, Pat will be stepping down and taking on a two-year term as one of the chapter’s Councilors. During her tenure as Regent, Pat enjoyed working with the members of the chapter and meeting the other area Regents. Pat is most proud of the chapter’s efforts in a grave dedication for a patriot interred in Norwalk. Pat was able to locate the grave, arrange for the plaque, and set up a dedication ceremony to be performed for the local patriot on the behalf of Kansas residents. Pat also served as Registrar for the chapter.

The chapter was organized on December 16, 1892. The society is composed of those women who can trace their lineage back to one of the Revolutionary patriots. In keeping with their focus on history, education and patriotism, the Norwalk Chapter of the NSDAR was responsible for erecting many of the historical markers and monuments commemorating the history of Norwalk.

Note to the Press: The press is invited to attend the induction ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center, on Saturday, May 4th. Norwalk Inn and Conference Center, 99 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851, (203) 303-0808.
