Festival Weekend at Mathews Park, June 29 and 30

Today, Mathews Park is a luscious green, inviting even on this hot day. We are getting excited about Saturday and Sunday this weekeknd, when 75 booths containing fine arts and crafts will be set up on the lawn in the park. Food vendors will have booths, and there will be ample room to picnic on the grass. Visitors can take a break from booth shopping to stop in at The Stepping Stones Museum for Children, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, located on the grounds at Mathews Park.

At the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, the International Miniature Print Exhibition is in full force, with over 800 tiny prints to choose from in our air-conditioned gallery.

Festival tent booths will be pitched Friday afternoon---yes, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking has a booth, containing approximately 20 framed original prints made by artists--some of them one-of-a-kind pieces of art. There will be additional framed prints in binders.

On Saturday, June 29, the festival starts at 10 AM. Mayor Moccia will officially open the festival at noon. The Norwalk Art Festival is also open from 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday, June 30.

Here is a tip: Arrive early to get a good parking space. Latecomers: Remember the overflow lot in Lohman's Plaza, directly behind the staff parking lot at the Stepping Stones Museum for Children. Festival visitors:  please don't park in the staff lot, please help to keep those spaces for festival staff and volunteers.
