If your home is without power, please call your electric utility provider – CL&P (800-286-2000) or United Illuminating (800-722-5584) – to report the outage. Do not assume the utility knows of your outage.

The American Red Cross is working in multiple locations to serve those in need. The Connecticut chapter of the Red Cross is currently running shelters in Bridgeport, Westport, Norwalk and Stamford serving 50% of total shelter occupants in the state. The total number of Fairfield County residents seeking shelter is expected to increase as prolonged power outages force many from their homes. In the days ahead, local Red Cross staff and volunteers will be instrumental in coordinating distribution of water, food and cleanup and other emergency supplies.
If you would like to volunteer your time or resources, email ctvol@ctredcross.org and a Red Cross team member will get back to you with information.
