SmartVoice Conference Welcomes Martin Geddes as Keynote Speaker

Telecom consultant to provide insight at Miami event

 

Norwalk, CT—January 6, 2014, Today TMC and HD Voice News announced that Martin Geddes of the Hypervoice Consortium will be providing the opening keynote at the SmartVoice Conference, held January 28, 2014, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The event will center on the benefits of Smart voice services, including recording/archiving, hypervoice and text-to-speech indexing, voice biometrics and voice analytics. Geddes will deliver a keynote address, titled “From Dumb Calling to Smart Voice,” at 10:00 am, and provide a fresh perspective on the future of voice services.

"The integration of smart voice with the Web is a rare opportunity to seize valuable unclaimed business territory,” said Geddes. “This area deserves the same attention as the emergence of e-commerce in the 1990s or social media in the 2000s."

Geddes is a consultant on future telecoms business models and technologies. He is co-founder and executive director of the Hypervoice Consortium, a new industry association for value-added voice services. Together with business partners, he also works at the forefront of knowledge on network performance engineering. He co-runs public workshops on the future of voice, broadband and OTT strategy. His former roles include senior technical and executive positions at BT, Telco 2.0, Oracle and Sprint. Martin is currently writing a book on the future of distributed computing, called “The Internet is Just a Prototype.”
