Mozilla to Provide Keynote at DevCon5

HTML5 leader to share insight at December 10-11 event

Norwalk, Conn—December 5, 2013—Today TMC and Crossfire Media announced that Mozilla will speak at DevCon5 HTML5 & Mobile App Developer Conference. The event will be held December 10-11, 2013, at the Hilton Los Angeles/ Universal City, California, and will enable attendees to immerse themselves in HTML5 topics, including user-experience design and security, building new business models for the mobile Web, browser compatibility with HTML5 and much more.

Mozilla has been a pioneer and advocate for the Web for more than a decade. They create and promote open standards that enable innovation and advance the Web as a platform for all. Today, hundreds of millions of people worldwide use Mozilla Firefox to experience the Web on computers, tablets and mobile devices. With Firefox OS and Firefox Marketplace, Mozilla is driving a new mobile ecosystem that is built entirely on open Web standards, freeing mobile providers, developers and end users from the limitations and restrictions imposed by proprietary platforms.

On Wednesday, December 11 at 9:00 am, Bill Walker, Senior Manager at Mozilla Labs will present a keynote titled “Firefox Marketplace: Breaking the Stranglehold of App Stores.” The session will focus on the ecosystem surrounding the newly-launched Firefox OS for mobile phones and Firefox Marketplace app and how they are staged to transform the mobile Web.

“Mozilla is an innovative leader within the HTML5 space,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content and community. “Attendees will have the valuable opportunity to gain insight from Mozilla’s thought-leaders, and we look forward to the company’s participation at DevCon5”
