DevCon5 WebRTC sessions include:

·         Real-Time Communications in HTML5 and Native Mobile Applications using WebRTC: WebRTC is revolutionizing the telecoms world by making it easy for HTML5 and mobile application developers to add real-time communication capabilities to their applications. The ease of integration of WebRTC makes communication context based. It becomes part of the application itself instead of a specific external activity. In this session, Peter Dunkley, technical director at Acision and John Riordan, CTO of OnSIP, will explain what WebRTC is and discuss use cases for WebRTC, what developers should consider in terms of infrastructure when using WebRTC, components and technologies that are available to developers and demonstrate the power of WebRTC using HTML5 and native mobile example applications.

·         Challenges and Best Practices in Building RTC Web Applications: In this session, Sumit Amar, director of engineering at Electronic Arts, digs deeper into challenges and best practices in building out WebRTC applications to allow collaborative peer-to-peer media communications. Audio and video conferencing will be demonstrated with optimized code examples. Panelists will discuss the future of WebRTC and its potential in ubiquity. Microsoft’s CURTCWeb Customization, Ubiquitous RTC over Web will be discussed in detail with examples. This talk will also share downloadable source codes for audio and video conferencing application written entirely without using any plugins.

·         DevCon5 will also feature a WebRTC-focused keynote by Dr. Luis Lopez, associated professor at Rey Juan Carlos University and Electronic Arts’ Amar.

“The gaming, HTML5 and WebRTC worlds have begun to overlap, and it is important for players within the marketplace to be at the forefront of these emerging technologies,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content DevCon5. “By introducing these WebRTC tracks into DevCon5’s programming, we showing the impact of interactive and responsive design in a true multimedia environment.”
