Business and Marketing for Small Landscaping Companies- NOFA OLC Advanced Workshop II

Stamford, CT— Land care professionals are invited to learn about business planning and marketing tools at the “Business and Marketing for Small Landscaping Companies” on November 4, 2013 at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center from 8:30am-4:30pm. This workshop is hosted by the Organic Land Care Program of the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA).

Frank H. Crandall III, an accomplished horticultural consultant, will be presenting on overhead, profit & loss statements and profit goals as well as estimates, job costing and sample project proposals. Frank Crandall owns Horticultural Solutions based in Wakefield, RI and is an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional and serves on the NOFA OLC Committee.

Phoebe Browning, of FeeBee LLC, will be presenting on the necessities of bookkeeping, record keeping, and employment management. Phoebe has been in the field of accounting since the early 1990s and started her own accounting firm FeeBee Business consulting Services, LLC in 2005.

Liz Dederer, of Maximize Your Value and New Solutions Websites, will discuss who your clients are; Liz will focus on defining your target audience, locating these potential clients and how best to communicate with them. Liz will also discuss effective marketing strategies; Liz will cover websites, social media, print marketing, and how your approach will differ depending on the size of your business and your goals.

Linda Goldsmith, CT NOFA’s marketing, design and fundraising manager, will discusses business branding. Linda will share her experience as a graphic designer and provide an overview of creating a consistent brand for your business.

“Business and Marketing for Small Landscaping Companies” will be held in the Indian Room at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center 39 Scofieldtown Rd, Stamford, CT 06903. The workshop cost is $125 for NOFA Accredited Organic Professionals and Members and $140 for the public.
