Battle of the Platforms Returns to M2M Evolution Conference & Expo

Today TMC and Crossfire Media announced the expansion of its highly-anticipated Battle of the Platforms competition at M2M Evolution Conference & Expo. M2M Evolution, held August 11-14, 2014, at The Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada, is an event that explores the latest Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technologies, horizontal solutions and vertical applications. Battle of the Platforms is an exciting opportunity for leading companies to present cutting-edge M2M platforms, and for businesses to hear and see what the market has to offer. This year’s competition will be expanded from an evening of demonstrations to a full two days, and will commence on August 11 at 2:00 pm.

“M2M platforms are managing and delivering new efficiency across industries that include transportation, logistics, telematics, medical, smart grid, cold chain and more. Battle of the Platforms is intended to highlight how the migration to these new independent systems makes it economically feasible for all markets to adopt M2M,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content, M2M Evolution. “We’re eager to highlight the adoption and adaptation of these platforms, as we evaluate their impact, development and business intelligence for the carrier and enterprise.”

The Battle of the Platforms will provide participants the opportunity to demonstrate their platform live to a panel of judges, as well as an audience of attendees and potential end-users. Judging will be based on the submission of a completed entry form plus the live demonstration. Five winners will be selected, one winner in each of the following categories:

• Enabling Independent Applications Developer to work with M2M devices using APIs to manage information flow and connect to the users existing systems.
• Platform for Best BI Controls Solutions that deliver thresholding and performance criteria in a manner that makes business decisions logical, simple and self-evident as possible.
• Platform for Service Providers to support wholesale services and demonstrates streamlined M2M and is available for rapid deployment.
• Platform for Enterprise Deployment to partition and deliver specific solutions where the enterprise manages independent of the location of their equipment.
• Best Horizontal Platform for ease of integration, acceptability across multiple vertical markets, reduced complexity, cost reduction and speed of deployment.
• Overall Best Platform demonstrating best-in-competition features and capability.
