Norwalk's New 100+ Dealer Destination for Antique Lovers

This giant multi-dealer space on the Norwalk/Westport line showcases everything from industrial to deco. There is also a large estate room for monthly auctions, and an art gallery on site.

Antique lovers, designers and decorators will rejoice when they step inside the newly-opened Fairfield County Antique & Design Center in Norwalk.

Large scale multi-vendor antique centers in Fairfield County that qualify as "destinations" have until now been limited to Stratford Antiques Center and Stamford's Hiden Galleries.

Fairfield County Antique & Design Center is owned by Geoffrey Walsky of Weston.

"We have an eclectic mix of styles and price points," Walsky said. "There is everything from mid-century modern to whimsy to industrial."

The center has adequate space for 100 dealers, and since the center opened a week ago, 60 dealers are already onboard. Walsky's operation also features a spacious art gallery, "Leclerc Contemporary," which currently features the work of Amy Storey from New York City. Walsky said the gallery will rotate in a new exhibit every six weeks.

The gallery, which is professionally curated, is also available for events. "It's a nice space for receptions, cocktail parties and rehearsal dinners," Walsky said.

The vendor spaces are supplemented with a customer consignment area and a long glass case for smaller items. Toward the rear of the center is a large "estate room" where vendors can meet with customers. Walsky plans to use this space for monthly auctions, the first of which is set for January 8, 2014.

Other plans include an e-commerce site which Walsky expects to go live next year.
