Norwalk's Diana Lenkowsky to Get Leadership Award

The award, named after the visionary Pitney Bowes leader, celebrates corporate leadership in the community.

The Business Council of Fairfield County is scheduled to bestow the Walter H. Wheeler, Jr. Leadership Award to Norwalk resident Diana Lenkowsky, vice president, facilities and administrative services for , on November 15, 2011 at .

The award, named after the visionary Pitney Bowes leader, celebrates corporate leadership in the community.

This year the award is being given to Lenkowsky in recognition of her past and present volunteer efforts at various non-profit organizations. She is a past chair and Lifetime Board Member of the Human Services Council of Norwalk, past chair of the Stamford Partnership and 40 South Main (Transitional Housing in Norwalk), current chair of Stamford Achieves, and a director of the Mill River Collaborative and Norwalk 2.0, according to a press release.

What’s more she currently serves on the United Way’s Stamford Community Council and chairs the Business Council’s Stamford Transportation Roundtable.

All this while she handles community relations for Purdue Pharma, which moved its offices to Stamford from Norwalk 11 years ago.

“Diana’s commitment to community is beyond commendable. Her contributions have spanned from hands-on volunteering, to recruiting business board members, leading strategic planning processes, and, in at least three different cases, led boards through CEO transitions,” said Christopher Bruhl, president and CEO, The Business Council of Fairfield County, in the release.

The evening includes a reception at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m., followed by the award presentation.
