Roger Sherman Inn's Food and Wine Series Visits the Loire Valley

The Roger Sherman Inn’s summer wine and culinary series travels to the Loire Valley on Sunday, August 26th.  In the third ‘stop’ of the RS Tour de France, the Inn will salute the historic French region best known for its kings, chateaux and lush vineyards.  The night will feature a four-course menu abundant with typical Loire Valley food and wine, including pan-fried prawn tails, sliced pheasant and wild boar with fresh figs –- all paired with the distinctive wine from a region prized by wine connoisseurs since the 1st Century. To celebrate the regality of the region, patrons are invited –- but not required -- to dress as their favorite royal character. From Louis XIV to Prince Charles, royal characters from any country or era are more than welcome. The four-part RS Tour de France series runs through the end of September and takes place on the Inn’s popular porch.  Participants have raved about the first two dinners. Here is what New Canaan resident, Julianne Grace, had to say:“The fabulous wine and food tour at the Roger Sherman is the next best thing to traveling afar. We've journeyed from Morocco to Provence, enjoying the sensational tastes and pleasures of each region, without buying a plane ticket! Can't wait to experience the delights of the Loire Valley and Alsace."The remaining two dinners of the series, starting at 6pm, take place as follows: August 26th: Loire Valley; and September 23rd: Alsace.  For each event, the cost is $70 per person.  Seating is limited so contact the Roger Sherman Inn to reserve a space at 203-966-4541 or email to info@rogershermaninn.com.
