Dress for Success Teams Up with Dressbarn

Drop off a nearly-new suit and help economically disadvantaged women

For the most part, men have it easy when it comes to figuring out what to wear for at least the more formal typical corporate environments. A dark suit, collared shirt and a tie creates an instant business look. For women, the choices in attire can make it more complicated to achieve a professional business look. Enter Dress for Success.

Since 1997, the New York-based organization has helped over 550,000 economic disadvantaged women around the world navigate the world of business. The programs are not just focused on what to wear, but on skills that promote employment retention and working toward economic independence.

Two weekends from now, from Thursday, Feb. 24, through Sunday, Feb. 27, Dress for Success is promoting its annual S.O.S. weekend, for which is a local sponsor. S.O.S. stands for Send One Suit. Women across the country are being asked to donate nearly-new suits by dripping them off at dressbarn stores in order to help a deserving woman enter the workforce and take charge of her life.
