Connecticut Gas Prices Rising Faster Than National Average

Connecticut's gas prices remain well above the national average. Prices are rising faster in Connecticut.

A month ago, gas prices in Connecticut seemed to be bottoming out at $3.64 a gallon. The latest average price according to Connecticut Gas Prices is $3.82, up from $3.74 a week ago.

Nationally, the average is $3.50, up from $3.46 a week ago.

“Gasoline prices continue to rise across much of the nation, which is precisely what we had forecast earlier this year, so it does not come as much of a shock,” said Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com, the parent company of Conn. Gas Prices.

He added in a statement, “Either way, I don’t expect the national average to break out of its mid-$3/gallon rut until mid-to-late September, then we may get some action to the downside.”
