Moving isn’t always easy!

Working out isn't easy - event professionals struggle.

Getting ourselves moving isn’t always easy! Even I face challenges when teaching classes. The important thing is to overcome whatever the challenge is and stay in motion! I actually have a history of strange challenges. I’ve taught with a fever, with a cough, with three ace bandages wrapped around a sprained ankle.   I’ve taught with muscle spasms in my back that made it impossible to stand up straight. I once ripped my lower back in a kickboxing class and finished the class while lying flat on the floor calling the moves out through my headset. I’ve taught with my pants inside out and a white crotch showing. (By mistake of course! It was early and I got dressed in the dark.) I’ve taught with my underwear falling down inside pants that were right side out.(Picked the wrong underwear that day!) I’ve taught with a pinched nerve and a totally numb right arm. I’ve taught when the electricity went out and we kept going with no music in the dark. (Felt kinda of badly about making that class listen to me sing!) I’ve taught when the fire alarm suddenly went off. (The studio had windows and an exterior door so I figured we could get out in a hurry if we needed to.) I’ve taught with ear infections where I had to blast the music just to hear it. I’ve taught with a mouse running through the studio–yikes! I’ve taught with a couple of little kids screaming their heads off in the back of the room while their mom chased them. I’ve taught when I snapped an exertube right into both eyes. (Well, that was the only class I really had to stop because I couldn’t see and they had to cart me off to an ophthalmologist!) I continued to teach even while trying to break up two members fighting over a particular spot in the front row. I’ve taught when I dropped a hand weight on my toe and tried not to let anyone see the watering in my eyes. And I even taught the whole time I was pregnant.

I am sure you’ve had to face some equally interesting challenges and would love to hear them. Please send me your stories, tales and anecdotes about what challenges you had to overcome to stay in motion.  You can message me at our Facebook page Gotta-Move LLC or email them to Gotta-Move@hotmail.com
