Route 7/Main Ave Repaving in Norwalk & Wilton

Norwalk's Main Avenue and Wilton's Danbury Road are being repaved from 1/4mile south of the DMV office in Norwal to half a mile north of where Route 7 meets state Route 33 in Wilton.

If you're driving in the Norwalk/Wilton area on Main Avenue/Route 7, keep in mind the milling and re-surfacing taking place. Thankfully, it will be done at night and not over the Labor Day weekend.

The Department of Transportation released this statement about the roadwork:

"The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that milling and resurfacing will be performed on Route 7 from the Main Avenue/Route 7 overlap in Norwalk to a half mile north of its overlap with Route 33 (Westport Road) in Wilton.  The project also includes a quarter mile segment of Main Avenue (SR 719) south of the Route 7 intersection in Norwalk.  This project is expected to occur Monday, August 15, 2011 to the morning of Saturday, September 17, 2011.

"Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area."
