Norwalk Arts Fest Has Wide Variety of Art and Prices

The SoNo Arts Celebration in South Norwalk is traditionally one of the biggest crowd-drawing events of the year, and organizers try to make a wide range of different kinds of art available at it.

Many of the 150 juried artists and crafts-people exhibiting at this year's SoNo Arts Celebration are here for the first time, all are juried by a group of museum professionals and artists, and they come from 25 states and Canada to be in Norwalk for the festival, organizers say.

"Many (artists) only show here because of the SoNo Art Celebration's reputation for quality and their supportive patrons ofthe arts," according to a statement from the festival organizers.

The SoNo arts festival takes place this year from Friday to Sunday, Aug. 5-7 along Washington Street and North and South Main Streets. Begun in the late 1980s, the event always takes place on the first weekend in August.
