Here's the announcement from the Norwalk Seaport Association:

The Norwalk Seaport Association welcomes Grammy award winner Scott Stapp of Creed to the main stage as headline entertainment on Friday night of the 2014 Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival, September 5.

The act will be the opening night entertainment for the weekend-long event held this year September 5-7 in Norwalk, Connecticut.

The musical entertainment continues on Saturday night with the rock and roll talent of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.

“As fan of Scott Stapp and Creed for quite some time, I am thrilled he will be performing at the Oyster Festival on Friday night,” says Oyster Festival Chairman Mike Reilly.

“Fans will be happy to know that this well-known performer will be entertaining us with all the Creed favorites as well as songs from his solo albums.” Stapp’s music is well-known for being hard-edged, explosive, fiercely spontaneous and emotionally super-charged.

My Own Prison
, the debut multi-platinum Creed album, kicked off Scott’s musical journey in spectacular style with more albums and success to follow.  Stapp was awarded a Grammy in 2001 with Creed for the number one hit With Arms Wide Open, and continues to impress with his latest album Proof of Life.
