From Expensive Galas to Tag Sales This Weekend
With the coming of springtime, it's prime time to enjoy this weekend's variety of events in and around town.

- Why go: All are welcome to attend the museum’s “Step Out: Wine, Spirits and Food Tasting” at this mix-and-mingle affair showcasing Connecticut wine merchant Nicholas Roberts and an array of Fairfield County restaurants. The evening will feature a blind wine tasting challenge, auction and more. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support museum exhibits, educational programs and outreach initiatives.

- Why go: Held in support of the YWCA’s “eliminating racism, empowering women” effort, the YWCA of Darien/Norwalk will host this grand-style evening that includes an open bar and dinner along with dancing and both a live and silent auction. The public is invited.

- Why go: There’s something special about this group. Members of Naturally 7 are accompanied only by the sounds of the instruments they create with their own voices. In addition to familiar disco classics, rock ballads and other song styles, these seven voice talents create their own compositions, as well as thread irony and comedy throughout their a capella performance. “Naturally Seven summon up soul, rap, rock and folk from their throats in harmonious balance,” according to the playhouse. Mothers of Multiples Spring Tag Sale

- Why go: This tag sale presented by Mothers of Multiples of Lower Fairfield County (MOMSLFC) offers merchandise for infants to pre-teen size 12 including gear, toys and clothing galore. No strollers are permitted. For more information click MOMSLFC

- When: Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
- Why go: The theatre’s high school students’ production follows “a dramatic [murder] trial and a sequestered jury” in a “backwoods Southern precinct,” according to the theatre’s online description. Written and directed by David L. Jackins with music by Cheryl Kemeny, this suspenseful “musical dramedy” is sure to keep the audience riveted. See the parental discretion advisory
