SoNo Arts Celebration

SoNo Arts Celebration

This will be the 37th anniversary of the amazing SoNo Arts Celebration which takes place on Washington Street and Main Streets, the heart of the Arts and Entertainment District of historic South Norwalk, CT. Once a year the streets come alive with performing and visual arts. Add a giant puppet parade, a children's art playground and a vast array of delicious food temptations and you have the Annual Sono Arts Celebration. When is it? Always the first weekend of August. This year it is August 3, 4 & 5, 2012
The event starts with a Friday night kick off concert with head liner bands, dinner, drinks and dancing. The visuals start at 10 am Saturday morning and are open until 6 on Saturday and 10 - 5 on Sunday. The bands continue through Saturday night with a Dance party in the Washington Street Food court. There are 4 stages of live music to choose from.

For children, the Giant Puppet Parade, marches down the show route starting at 1:00 Sunday, August 5. To march, show up in Children's Art Playground at 12:15 to choose your puppet.

This year has an exceptional line up of artists working in both fine art and craft medium. This year we have over 150 juried artists exhibits ranging from original oil paintings, glass work, fiber arts, photography, wood, drawing, sculpture and of course hand made jewelry. The invited artists range from the functional craft forms to avant garde sculptural compositions in a wide variety of price ranges.

The SoNo Arts Celebration is grateful for our Sponsors and for the hard work of the Volunteer Committees to keep this out standing cultural event free and accessible to the community.
