Norwalk Hospital Breaks Ground on Major Expansion Project

Campaign donors and employees of Norwalk Hospital, as well as city officials and residents gathered Friday morning to break ground on the largest expansion project in the hospital's 120-year history.

The expansion includes a new ambulatory pavilion, which will be renamed The Anne P. and Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Center in recognition of the family's $10 million gift.

The pavilion will include an expanded emergency department, a new Cancer Center, a Center for Digestive Diseases and updated services for Ambulatory Surgery. Over 95,000 square feet of new construction and 35,000 square feet of renovations are planned.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Richard Moccia, State Senator Toni Boucher, State Rep. Tony Hwang, State Rep. Terrie Wood and key campaign donors, including The McGraws of Darien and Greenwich, the Bauers of Wilton and the Whittinghams of Stamford.
