1. GOOD FOOD FAST—493 Connecticut Ave.
Deal: It’s hard to beat $5 for a six-inch lunch sandwich and side salad. Sandwich options include smoked barbecue chicken, smoked barbecue pork, roadhouse brisket, and Philadelphia cheesteak.

2. BORDERS BOOKS
Deal: Borders Books is claiming bankruptcy and closing a number of their stores, including the Wilton location. Take advantage of the closing sale deals being offered.
Good through: April 30
3. GAIL’S STRIDE RITE (Darien)
Deal: They are featuring 50% off select brands such as Sketcher, Ecco, Merrell, and more! Adult merchandise is also marked down. If you haven’t been to Gail’s Stride Rite laely, it’s worth a visit just to check out the whole adult room they’ve added.
Good through: According to a sales associate in the store, this offer is good through “at least March.”
4. NORWALK MATTRESS
Deal: If you need a new bed, now is a good time to buy local and take advantage of the great deals being offered at Norwalk Mattress’s February Sale. They’re taking from $50 to $500 off select styles. Click here for more info.

5. MOVIE & PIZZA
Deal: What do you normally pay for pizza and a movie? I bet it's more than $2. Well, for that fantastic price, the Norwalk Library sponsors pizza & a movie night the fourth Thursday of each month. This Thursday, Feb. 24, they are showing the 2010 version of The Karate Kid. Click here to sign up or for more details.

6-8. MISCELLANEOUS
There are a few other sales worth mentioning.

7. is offering buy 1, get 1 free on many supplements, including Emergen-C. You can also buy three 64 oz Motts Apple Juice and Hawaian Punch for $5.
8. At , treat yourself to a Cadbury Creme Egg or 1.5 oz bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs. Use your ExtraCare card and you’ll pretty much get them for free once the Extra Bucks Reward kicks in (and if you’re anything like me, you’d actually be willing to pay a lot more for those decadent delights!). Also at CVS, use your ExtraCare card to buy Colgate Total and once you receive your Extra Bucks Reward, you will have paid less than $1.00 per tube.
