Grocery Shopping Today Can Help Fund Children's Health Program
Healthy Children, Healthy Communities Program benefits by Whole Foods day
Four local Whole Foods Market stores in Darien, Greenwich, Milford and Westport (just over the Norwalk line) have partnered with to promote Healthy Children, Healthy Communities. On Wednesday, 5 percent of all sales at these four stores will be donated to Stepping Stones.
The program is part of the on-going efforts that Whole Foods sponsors to help community organizations raise awareness and funds for worthy initiatives. The Healthy Children, Healthy Communities program at Stepping Stones features Healthyville, an mini interactive exhibit that provides a hands-on way for children to explore health and nutrition concepts.
The program also includes free Nutrition Kits for schools, mini exhibits in Yale Pediatric Center, health-based vignettes on Connecticut Public Television and other programs such as parent workshops in Bridgeport.
