Funding Assistance Still Available to Norwalk Residents Impacted by Sandy

The following statement has been released by the Norwalk Fire Department: 

Residents still affected by Hurricane Sandy encouraged to apply for assistance. The Greater Norwalk Long Term Recovery Committee in partnership with  the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, United Way of Coastal Fairfield County and Fairfield County Community Foundation encourage residents who are still struggling as a result of Superstorm Sandy to apply now for available funds by calling 2-1-1.

The funds are available to provide grants to qualifying residents impacted by the storm but unable to afford recovery. Basic needs assistance, including replacement of critical household goods damaged by Sandy and relocation assistance is available as well as assistance with home repairs and/or appliance replacement, emergency rental assistance for displaced households.

Residents should call United Way/Infoline at 2-1-1. Callers will be referred to Sandy caseworkers who are working in Norwalk.
