First Snow of 2014: Winter Storm Warning in Effect for Norwalk

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 1:00p.m. on Friday.

Heavy snow and strong winds along with dangerously cold wind chills are expected Thursday night and into friday afternoon. Snow: with accumulation of 6 to 10 inches and winds north of 10 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 35MPH are forecasted.  

The strongest winds and heaviest snow are expected Thursday night and into early Friday morning. 

With significant amounts of snow expected, travel will become dangerous and NWS suggests, as a precaution, to only travel in an emergency, and keeping an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
