Sail around Norwalk Islands Aboard Schooner SoundWaters

Take an evening sail around the Norwalk Islands aboard an 80 foot historic Schooner.  On Thursday, June 28, The Friends of the Norwalk Islands in collaboration with SoundWaters is offering a unique two-hour cruise in a replica of a Chesapeake Bay sharpie schooner.

Passengers will work together to raise sail and haul nets.  They’ll also learn about the Stewart B. McKinney Wildlife Refuge along the Connecticut coastline, and conservation efforts being taken to protect species, habitats and water quality of the Long Island Sound.

The boat departs from the Norwalk Cove Marina Fuel Dock at 5:00 p.m. and returns at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $20 per passenger.  Children over 5 years old are welcome.  The price includes a hot dogs, hamburgers, beer and wine dockside after the trip.  Water and soda are available on board.   Registration is required and space is limited. Please call us at  (203) 849-8341 or visit www.FriendsoftheNorwalkIslands.org to make a reservation or for more information.
