5 Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: April 5

The five most important tips, news and reminders we could find for today.

  1. Kindergarten registration started March 22. If you have a child who will be five years old by January 1, and you haven’t registered him or her for kindergarten, you’ll find everything you need to get started here.
  2. Foder Farm, Norwalk's community garden, officially opens on April 23. Stop by to check out the many improvements the parks department has made to this agricultural landmark, including two greenhouses, an apple orchard, a newly-constructed pavilion and deck, renovations to the Fodor Farm house, and more.
  3. Wish the  luck as they head to Detroit tomorrow to compete in the USA Hockey Girls National Championship. It will be a grueling few days for this powerhouse team who also plans to use their time in Detroit to give back to the community.
  4. Check out the March Mayhem sale at Learning Express of Westport and Darien. Shop at the toy store today or tomorrow between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and noon. During that time, shoppers will receive a $10 gift card with $50 purchase, a $15 gift cards with a $75 purchase and a $20 gift card with $100 purchase.
  5. A Norwalk family finds itself in need after their  last week. If you’re able to help the family, Patch reader  asks that “Donations of gift cards, new clothing, household items or food for the Muriel Family can be made to The Norwalk High Soccer Team, care of Coach Chris Laughton, norwalkhssoccer@yahoo.com or to Elizabeth Broncati, Norwalk Soccer Booster Club, broncati@aol.com.”
