Nutmeg Bowl Junior Bowlers League Update: Master's Week

NUTMEG BOWL JUNIOR BOWLING

5th Week:  Sat, Feb 1, 2014 – 9:30AM

The Junior Bowling Program at Nutmeg Bowl in Fairfield is proud to present the results of league bowling.  All youth bowlers from bumper-bowlers to twenty year olds are welcome to come and participate in our $10,000 annual scholarship league.

5th Week In the Teen’s Division (Youth 13-20):   Bowlers were put to the challenge again on the Masters Oil Pattern.  32 junior bowlers faced the pattern to be bowled this month at the Masters Tournament in mid-February.  Five scored over a 500 series and four had games of 200+.  Overall, 13 of 32 bowlers finished over their average.  Congratulations to Dennis Barnum with the highest series and Mike Bonis for the most pins over average, 552, +111 pins over average.  Congrats to Antoine Purefoy with a 230, the highest game this week and the 2nd most pins +78 over average.  Also congrats to Tiffany Nixon with 71 pins over and a solid, stead 506 series. Great job Juniors!  Over February vacation, the PBA Professionals meet at the Masters Tournament at Carolier Lanes in New Brunswick, NJ.

5th Week In the USA-10’s Division (Youth 5-13):  Of 21 bowlers present, 8 bowled over their average for the week and 4 bowled 25 or more pins over their average.  2 bowled games over 150.  Ian Chichester had the most pins over average with +93 and the most 75 pins over average in a game for a 166.  Max Rosenberg had the second most pins over average in his series with +50.  Izzy Casucci was 32 pins over with a high game of 120.  Justin Williams shot a nice 156 game, 42 pins over his average. Well done Junior Bowlers!  Keep up the good work!!

We are proud to offer generous scholarship funds to promote excellence in athletics and the mastery of a competitive sport.  The great achievement that comes from dedicated practice and concentrated effort is possible for all.  Bowlers receive professional instruction during and after league in a 60-minute clinic and also in a 90-minute clinic on Wednesday’s at 4PM.  Bowlers who participate in all but 3 weeks also earn scholarship funds for grades in school, perfect attendance and pins-over-average in the final tournament of each season.  Thanks to our generous donors who provide over $10,000 in scholarship funds each year.   Please support our sponsors!
