Community Update

Look into Your Revolutionary War Relatives

<br/>This July 4th the Norwalk Village Green Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be taking part in the Independence Day. Celebration events at Mill Hill Historic Park, 2 East Wall Street. The events run from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. and are free to the public.

The day’s events will start at 12:00 noon with a Revolutionary Walking Your of Historic Norwalk Green and the surrounding neighborhood with costumed guides Ed and Madeleine Eckert. There will be open houses at the Town House the Little Red Schoolhouse and Gov. Thomas Fitch Law Office. At 1:30 “Let Freedom Ring!™” National Bell Ringing will take place along with a reading of the Declaration of Independence. At 2:15 there will be a special July 4th program in the Town House with guest speakers, musical performances by Crystal Theatre Singers and a presentation of “Did You Know? Little Known Facts about Norwalk During the American Revolution” along with “Stories of Historic Norwalk Green &amp; Neighborhood.”

<br/>The Village Green Chapter is pleased to be participating and will have a booth at the Mill Hiss Historic Park to answer questions on how to start your search for your Revolutionary War patriot in your family tree. They will also be selling patriotic items. Come see the DAR members dressed in their 18th century outfits and start your search towards membership in this historic chapter of the DAR.
