Norwalk High's Peace Works to premiere Public Service Announcement on 4/30

Peace Works, an anti-bullying organization at Norwalk High School will be hosting a movie day to premiere their very on Public Service Announcement: "Silent Walk of a Teen" along with a showing of the BULLY documentary on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 2:30PM in the Public Forum.  This is a great opportunity for the NHS community to show support for the anti-bullying campaign while earning some extra credit for their Social Studies classes.

Peace Works' club members brainstormed multiple ideas for the PSA and wrote various scripts depicting bullying and a solution to the problem. The club chose only one script to be filmed. The PSA was filmed in one afternoon at the high school and edited by a student hoping to pursue film in college next year.

While this event is for the students and staff of Norwalk High School, the Norwalk community will have the chance to watch the PSA on Tuesday as well since it will be posted on the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/PeaceWorksOrg

Nowadays, bullying is not just physical and verbal. With the wide use of technology it has become  prevalent through social media networks, even receiving its own category: cyberbullying. Peace Works hopes that the PSA will impact who ever watches by making people think of how they could react to any bullying and disrespect people witness.
