Taste of Torah Taking Place at Congregation Beth El

At Congregation Beth El, a great community event will be held, known as the Taste of Torah.

Congregation Beth El will soon be hosting a community event called “Taste of Torah.” It is an event that is held at a local synagogue every year. This year, it will be in Norwalk, at 109 East Avenue. This event is a way for people in the community to get together and learn some more about Judaism, while giving them some food for thought. This program has been going on for many years and is a great way to bring people from all different communities together. Since this is the first time that the community will be together after the Newtown tragedy, there will be a brief ceremony to start the evening off in memory of those that were lost. What happened in Newtown affected not only the people in that town, but all of the surrounding communities.

With the feeling of community coming together not only in times of sadness, but also in times of joy, this is a great time for people to come together in a positive way. Which is one of the many reasons why “Taste of Torah”, is such a great event. Every year a group of local Rabbis, Cantors, and Teachers  get together to offer free lectures on various topics to the local community. This year, this will be happening in Norwalk, at Congregation Beth El. Various topics will be covered, including: “When is ‘Chosen’ Too Choosy”,  “The Rabbi and the Chief”, “What does ‘Shema’ Really Mean”; and more. The information that will be provided will be done in two 45 minutes sessions, allowing people to choose two different topics to learn about. For more information about this wonderful learning opportunity you can go to our website at: http://www.congbethel.org/community/event-flyers.html or you can call us at 203-838-2710 or email us at office@congbethel.org.
