  • "Ryan SanAngelo -- children's author, music performer -- [...] will visit the Norwalk Library on Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. Ryan SanAngelo will read a story and perform original and well known songs for the little ones.   • "[T]he 2013 fall archery hunting season for deer and wild turkey opens [Monday] Sept. 16. From Sept. 16 to Dec. 31, bowhunters can hunt for both deer and turkeys on designated state lands and on private land where they have written permission of the landowner. In deer management zone 11 (Fairfield County area) and zone 12 (Connecticut shoreline towns), archery hunters can hunt for deer and turkeys from Sept. 16, 2013, until Jan. 31, 2014." -- from a news release by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP)
  • Fairfield County restauranteurs Barry Brennan of Darien, Gaynor Brennan of Stamford and Mac Mackenzie of New Canaan are hosting a grand opening of Brennan’s Tap Room in Norwalk on Thursday, Sept. 12. Mayor Richard Moccia will kick off the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event will feature live entertainment, raffles, giveaways and drink specials. The brothers and their childhood friend have collectively owned and operated seven different establishments in the past four decades.
