Norwalk Teacher Arrested for Child Sexual Abuse

The man was held on $150,000 bond after being arrested on two felony charges.

Westport police arrested a 67-year-old Westport man Monday on child sexual abuse charges that reportedly occurred while he was babysitting at his home, police said.

The arrest occurred after Westport police received a complaint from the Department of Children and Families (DCF) regarding allegations of the suspected child sexual abuse case, according to Westport Police Captain Sam Arciola.

Westport police received the complaint on Dec. 26 and on Monday the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau executed an arrest and search warrant on Victor Corso at his Hillandale residence in Westport, according to Arciola. Corso is a teacher at Norwalk's Brien McMahon High School.

The alleged incident occurred while Corso was babysitting the child at his home, Arciola said. The Detective Bureau, working jointly with DCF, began an investigation into the complaint, Arciola said.

Corso was charged with risk of injury to a child and fourth-degree sexual assault. He was unable to post $150,000 bond and was held at the Westport Police Department. He was arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on Wednesday, Arciola said.
