  1. Theatre Artists Workshop will present "Shut Up and Sing!" a gala musical benefit, on May 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. and May 15 at 3 p.m. TAW is located at 5 Gregory Blvd., East Norwalk.
  2. Governor Dannel P. Malloy ordered that the Connecticut and U.S. flags be returned to full staff at sunset last night. The flags were lowered on April 29 in honor of Major Raymond G. Estelle II, a Connecticut native who was killed in action in Afghanistan.  Major Estelle was a 19-year veteran of the Air Force. If you're ever wondering how high the flag is supposed to be in Connecticut as fallen soldiers are honored, bookmark this state Web page, which will post the latest status.
  3. A cyberbullying forum will be held at East Norwalk Library on May 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m
  4. As you may have heard, May is National Electrical Safety Month. Here is another safety tip from Connecticut Light & Power: "Before using any electrical tool, be sure to inspect it for frayed power cords, broken plugs and cracked or broken sockets. When using an electric appliance outdoors, be sure it is plugged into an outlet that has a weatherproof cover and a ground fault circuit interrupter. If a problem occurs in the equipment, the interrupter will instantly cut the power, preventing a serious electric shock. Never use an electric appliance near a pool or other wet surfaces."
  5. The Manoj Mishra Musical Group will hold a concert at West Rocks Middle School on May 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education and village development in rural India.
