Booze Bash Lands Norwalk Parents In Trouble

13 underage kids were allegedly drinking at home of Norwalk residents.

A late night party with close to 15 teenagers led to the arrest of Norwalk parents who allegedly allowed them to drink in their home.

Edward O'Hara, 54, and Elissa Didio-O'Hara, 52, of 49 Pine Hill Ave., were issued a summons for allegedly permitting minors to illegally possess alcohol.

According to the police report, officers were called about a disturbance on Pine Hill Avenue around 11 p.m. on Friday. Officers observed six teenagers drinking in the rear of the house when they arrived. When the teenagers saw the police approaching, they ran off, leaving behind what they had been drinking, which according to the report, was beer.

Upon further investigation, police noticed a teenager locking the front door observed other people "running wild in the house" with beer cans and plastic cups. According to the report, police were allowed inside the house where they discovered vodka and beer on the premises.

Edward O'Hara and his wife told police their daughter was having a party, but didn't know they were drinking alcohol. According to the police report, there were 13 minors in the house between the ages of 15 and 18 years old.

The O'Hara's are due in court Feb.6.

Sounds hard to believe that the parents didn't know about the alcohol. What kind of "supervision" were they doing?

I would rather have them drinking at a house with an adult present then in some parking lot behind a strip mall like I used to do.

Adults present? Where? Can't wait to read the O'Hara's backpedaling about their supervision and good choices as parents.
