Norwalk Has Heart Quilt Unveiled

[Editor's Note: This announcement was originally posted Nov. 14.]

The Norwalk Has Heart quilt was unveiled during the closing reception for the Norwalk Quilt Trail on Thursday, November 10, at the Norwalk Historical Society. During the six-month NQT, a variety of cultural venues displayed almost 200 quilts made and collected in Norwalk (http://www.NorwalkQuiltTrail.org).

During the summer and fall, hundreds of residents of all ages helped complete the Norwalk Has Heart quilt during quilting bees coordinated by Peace by Piece: The Norwalk Community Quilt Project. The quilt, which was designed by Lizzy Rockwell, the artistic director of Peace by Peace, will be on permanent display in the children’s section of the Main Branch of the Norwalk Public Library.

Peace by Piece, which is supported by the Norwalk Children's Foundation, has created special quilts that are on display at Norwalk Community College and Stepping Stones Museum for Children. For information about Peace by Piece visit http://www.norwalkcommunityquiltproject.org.
